“Magnum Foundation gave me a platform to work on and document some of the most critical issues that have not received the attention they deserve. When the space for in-depth photojournalism is shrinking in the mainstream media, it’s up to organizations like MF to help tell stories that matter. ”
Magnum Foundation is fostering the next generation of imagemakers, whose diverse voices and visions fill an urgent need for empathy in our polarized public discourse. Mentorship, production assistance, and other critical support is made possible by donations from friends and partners like you.

Circle of Friends
“For me, its focus on funding underrepresented communities and stories makes Magnum Foundation the most important grant making institution in the photography world. It’s a deeply worthy cause.”
Donors who give $1,000 or more join Magnum Foundation’s Circle of Friends and receive special benefits in recognition of their gifts.
The Circle of Friends was an idea conceived around a dinner table by a group of Magnum Foundation’s earliest supporters. The Circle of Friends has grown steadily over the years, and with it, so too have the occasions for our members to gather.
From unique salons and artist receptions to book launches and private tours, you will enjoy special invitations throughout the year and opportunities to meet and engage with dedicated documentary photographers.
Join the Circle of Friends by making a donation of $1,000 or above.
